Wednesday, July 23rd was our third anniversary! The Lord has been so good to us throughout the past three years. We can’t believe how much joy marriage has brought to our lives and how our love for each other continues to grow.

Derek’s parents gifted us a dinner for two at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse which sits on the 16th floor of the Kaden Tower only a few minutes drive from our apartment. We got dressed up and Derek got to wear his new suit he got for Christmas for the first time. :) We enjoyed a leisurely two hour dinner and views of the sunset over the green city of Louisville.

Here we are all dressed up and ready to go out to dinner!

Our yummy desserts: cheesecake and warm apple tart

Wednesday morning we took a scenic drive out to Shelbyville, KY to go out to breakfast. That afternoon and evening we spent serving together. Derek joined me for my regular Wednesday afternoon shift volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House downtown. We cleaned, baked, and watered plants. It was nice for him to see the house and be able to picture what I am doing every Wednesday.

Our Wednesday nights have been spent at church participating in a servant evangelism class where we go out into the community for service projects. Derek went with the guys to mow some lawns while I went with the girls to pass out flyers at an apartment complex for the free car wash we will be hosting at the church next week.

The Lord blessed our third anniversary with time spent together over meals and working side by side. We are both eagerly awaiting what He has in store for our fourth year of marriage! :)
