Old Friends…New Friends

This past Saturday Colton and I drove north to Cincinnati to meet up with my dear friend Jessica and her daughter Claire.  Jessica and I have been friends since we were babies, so it was special for her to meet Colton and for our babies to meet one another. :)

We met at the Cincinnati Children's Museum which is located in Union Terminal (an old train station)

Loved getting to see Claire again!

Loved Jessica getting to meet Colton!

Love this picture Jessica took!

It is such a blessing to live so close to Jessica.  We grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area together and now the Lord has us living three hours away from each other.  Looking forward to our next get together in the spring!

The Elephant Returns…

Colton’s elephant costume made an appearance at his elephant-themed first birthday party last month and it returned for its encore performance this past Monday night for Halloween.  We took him on a stroll around the neighborhood, watched a little Charlie Brown and passed out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Happy baby elephant!

We had about 25 trick-or-treaters visit our front door this year, which sure beat the total of 5 we have had in our first 5 years of marriage combined. :)   Derek had fun answering the door and asking them all about their costumes!  Happy Halloween!

Great Grampa and GG Visit

This past weekend my grandma and grandpa flew out to Louisville from Phoenix, AZ to meet Colton.  We loved having them here, so we could give them a tour of our life in Louisville and so they could spend some time with their 3rd great grandchild.

Taking a ride on Great Grampa's lap. Colton actually did fine, this was just too good of a picture of my grandpa to pass up. :)

I love playing cards with my grandma and so we couldn't let a visit pass without getting in a game.

We had about 24 hours to spend with my grandparents and we are so thankful they came.  I loved driving them around Louisville to show them the sights and it was a treat to go out to dinner with them.  We are looking forward to when we can see them again!
